“Dying well is a bequest that you leave to those you love.”

~ Stephen Jenkinson

Why death?

Why Me?

I believe that we know who we are through knowing whose we are, and my calling to work within the realm of death comes from the lived experience of loss, and also a deep ancestral bone knowing that the commercialization and commodification of death has removed us collectively from the people we came from, and what it means to be human. We have forgotten how to live with the knowing that this sacred transition is unavoidable and we have forgotten how to grieve, both individually and in community.

My services in this realm are individualized to your needs. Whether you want to start planning for your own death or have or will soon experience the loss of a loved one, I’m here for you. I offer a variety of things in the community, including co-hosting a monthly Death Cafe with my dear friend and fellow Death Doula, Marti Steger of Pathways to Journey. We are also collaborating on an event called Contemplating Death, meant to help people start thinking about things like:

What do I want to happen to my body?

What do I want my funeral or memorial service to be like?

Who do I want to write my obituary and/or eulogy? Do I want to write them myself?

…and more

Let’s chat.

My training so far has been a combination of lived experience, deep study, and formal continuing education classes when I am able. I am also in my second year of mentorship with full spectrum doula, ceremonialist/ritualist, healer/curandera, and dear friend Mariah Bottomly of Sacred Expansion Wellness.
